Solar Interior (2009)
This is what you'd find inside the Sun and other stars like it. The centre is the
core, where the Sun produces energy from nuclear reactions. Next is the radiative
zone, where the radiation streams outwards. Then in the convective zone, the
radiation rises to the surface in convective cells. Lastly there is the photosphere
— the 'surface' if you like. This image is also available on a white background.
