And the Sky Full of Stars
This image shows the view from a planet on the outskirts of a globular cluster such as 47 Tucanae.
These are vast assemblages of up to a million ageing stars. If our Solar System could move to a more
attractive lot of celestial real estate, such as the globular cluster 47 Tucanae, the sky would
sparkle orange with the combined light of a million geriatric suns, the closest just 0.02
light-years away, or only about 40 times the
distance of Neptune.
