Earth Eclipse (2003)

Many people know what it is like to experience a total eclipse of the Sun on the Earth, but what about vice versa — an eclipse of the Sun as seen from the Moon? This image depicts such a spectacle. From the Moon, the Earth looks four times larger than the Moon does from the Earth. The Sun has just passed behind the limb of the Earth (or is coming back into view), illuminating the planet's atmosphere beautifully and dying the landscape a dark red-orange.
