I now have so many star pictures that I have put them in two galleries. The present gallery, Stars II, contains only images of binary stars, including several impressions of cataclysmic binaries. Cataclysmic binaries (or variables) are binary stars in which a tiny, dense stellar corpse called a white dwarf steals gas from a nearby and much larger companion star, usually a red dwarf.
