Solar System
The Solar System. What space artist's collection would be complete without a selection of illustrations and animations of the bodies that accompany us as we journey around the Sun? Since the 1960s, space probes have enormously improved our understanding of our humble corner of the galaxy, and like other artists I have used these resources to help visualise the Sun, planets, asteroids, comets and moons with which we share our home. Of course, invaluable as these mission are, these is still much that they haven't yet been able to show us. What's it like to float within the rings of Saturn? Or witness cryogenic volcanoes on Triton and Enceladus? What will the Solar System look like in the future - and how was it in the past? These are questions to which only an artist can suggest answers.
