About "Saturn and Dione"
This illustration shows the gas giant Saturn with some of its many satellites in front. In the foreground is Dione, Saturn's fourth-largest moon with a diameter of 1120 km (560 miles). Its surface, covered in a thick layer of water ice, is very heavily fractured and cratered. It likely has a rocky core surrounded by an ice mantle. Two other Saturnian moons can be seen in the distance, close to the ring plane. From left to right they are Enceladus and Mimas.Details
